OUR MISSION

Ethiopian Community in Northern Virginia’s (ECNOVA) mission is to serve, empower and advance the interest of Ethiopian & Ethiopian American living in Virginia and surrounding DMV areas. Help, facilitate, integrate the next generation with the American society and create a vibrant, well informed and connected Ethiopian American community while preserving their shared ancient and rich cultural heritage.

WHO WE ARE

ECAA is a non-profit social, cultural, and philanthropic organization. Our composition reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of Ethiopia. ECNOVA makes every effort to promote successful integration of Ethiopians to the wider American society while preserving their cultural heritage. It is our goal to promote understanding and harmony between and among Ethiopians and members of the wider Virginia/DMV community by facilitating communication regarding the histories, backgrounds, languages, and cultures of the respective communities. ECNOVA assists in the promotion of personal growth, financial stability, positive family and community relations and community empowerment. The adjustment and development of all ECNOVA’s constituents is facilitated with programs in the areas of advocacy, education, employment, healthcare, and community outreach.

OUR STORIES

ECNOVA was established on February 07, 2017, with a simple idea of forming a Community Association as an umbrella to create a consortium of Ethiopian groups in Northern Virginia.
